Other examples of a similar form to the present example and also by Feodor Rückert for Ovchinnikov are known. These include one of the same date with a similar double-headed eagle motif, though on a pale green ground (Christie's, New York, 13 April 2011, lot 107) and another, later example, enamelled with a scene of Ilya Muromets slaying the three-headed dragon inspired by The Bogatyrs, by Victor Vasnetsov.
