A large Russian silver-gilt and cloisonné-enamel kovsh, Moscow, Feodor Rückert, 1896-1908
Gilt silver. The bulbous body embellished all over with leafy vines and stylised floral motifs in very finely shaded cloisonné enamel on a mostly cream-coloured, partly green background. Seven decorative cabochons arranged around the edge. The underside and handle stamped with the mark of district inspection administration, fineness "88" plus master's mark "F.R." in Cyrillic. Length 24 cm, total weight 601g. Although Feodor Rückert worked independently in his own workshop, most of his production was distributed by Fabergé.
